CARE, SAFETY & USE INSTRUCTIONS
- First Burn: Allow the candle to burn until the wax melts across the entire surface to the sides of the vessel. This prevents tunneling and creates an even burn.
- Trim the Wick: Before lighting the candle each time, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. This prevents the wick from smoking and ensures a clean, even burn.
- Burn Time: Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Burning longer can cause the wick to move or slant.
- Extinguishing: Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame. This prevents hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out the candle, as this can cause hot wax to spill and may create smoke.
- Cooling: Allow the candle to cool completely before moving it. The container can become hot during use.
- Reposition the Wick: If the wick becomes off-center, use a wick dipper or tweezers to gently move it back to the center while the wax is still soft.
- Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This helps maintain their color and fragrance.
- Cleaning: If the candle container becomes sooty, allow it to cool and then clean it with a damp cloth. Avoid using sharp objects to scrape out wax residues.
- Wick Maintenance: Remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax pool after each burn to ensure an even burn and prevent flare-ups.
- Container Cleaning: After the candle is fully used, clean the container with warm, soapy water to reuse it or recycle it.
- Natural Discoloration:
- UV exposure: Please note that candles with fragrances may naturally discolor with UV exposure, keep out of direct sunlight to avoid this.
- Fragrances: with a high vanillin content and many citrus scents can cause the wax to develop a yellow tint we choose NOT to add additives to prevent this so as to maintain our soy's purity.
- Placement: Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid placing the candle near anything flammable, such as curtains, bedding, or paper. Do not position candles or fragrance products on or near TV cabinets, electrical items, or heat sources.
- Pillar Candles: - If the pillar candle has no base or container place the candle on a dish or a tray when burning to ensure melting wax is contained. You will need to melt this candle into a safe container, or base so that the wax pools safely.
- Environment: Burn candles in a well-ventilated room but away from drafts, vents, fans, or air currents. This helps prevent rapid, uneven burning and avoid flame flare-ups.
- Supervision: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
- Children and Pets: Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place lit candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets, or anyone else.
- Multiple Candles: When lighting multiple candles, place them at least 3 inches apart. This ensures they do not melt each other or create their own drafts.
- Container Damage: Do not use a candle if the container is cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged. A damaged container can overheat or break, causing a fire hazard.
- Full Meltdown: Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container. This prevents the container from overheating and possibly cracking.
- Moving Candles: Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied.
- Flame: Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly.
- Health Advisory: Persons with respiratory issues or sensitivity to fragrance should use caution when burning scented candles. Discontinue use if you experience any adverse reactions.
